Contract Description:
This contract period's work will consist of riparian planting (Newsome Stream Reach 2 & Red River Meadows) as well as potential project maintenance.  An evaluation of maintenance activities (outlined in the work element specifications and descriptions) will be completed on Newsome Stream Reach 2 & Red River Meadows after spring-flows.  In addition, a trail bridge (replacing a stream ford) will be designed for a stream crossing on the mainstem of Newsome Creek and as well as an undersized  fish barrier culvert on Little Moose Creek (a tributary to Red River).   Work will continue in pursuing  the Red River Corrals Conservation Easement as we still have very willing landowners and a promising partner (Palouse Land Trust) to hold the easement title.  We have also had interest from several other landowners within Red River to look at their meadow parcels for potential restoration activities.  We will be working towards partnerships with those landowners as their meadow parcels are key components to restoring river processes both within the Red River Watershed and South Fork Clearwater River subbasin.
